Having driven both Miatas and MR2s I can say I'd take an MR2 every day of the week. I love the AW11 and want one as a project...

Oh god now I feel terrible about selling mine. Ok, I have a little more pride now too (and not only because mine wasn't as rusty as that one - albeit a piece of crap nonetheless) and that video was fantastic.

I had my 87 for a year and got rid of it after a blown head gasket but I must say, the popup headlights always worked for me. Also, I never did drive it to its limits like the video egged on - but mainly because I didn't really trust it mechanically.

I replaced my MR2 with... what else but an NA Miata ;)
Though the 8 year newer Miata is already off to a worse start on the headlight situation -_-

Go for it!

I'd say look for an 88/89 Supercharged because they're slowwwwww normally aspirated... (but fun nonetheless as I'm sure you know)

Maybe when I get back from Japan, or the Mustang is payed off. I've only ever driven the N/A and it is slow, but still fun none the less
